How ErgonX Work Boots Accommodate Custom Orthotics
Fitting a custom orthotic into a standard work boot can often lead to a tight or unstable fit. If the boot internal board is shaped incorrectly or lacks depth, your prescription orthotic cannot perform effectively.
ErgonX work boots are designed by podiatrists with specific structural features that ensure custom orthotics fit comfortably and lie flat inside the boot.
Flat Internal Lasting and Removable Insoles
Many conventional safety boots use an internal lasting board that curves up along the sides to mimic arch contouring. When a custom orthotic is placed over an uneven surface, it can tilt or distort the support profile. ErgonX boots use a completely flat internal board underneath a thick, removable insole. Removing the stock insole creates generous internal volume and provides a flat foundation for your custom orthotic.
Heel Lock and Rearfoot Stability
Because an orthotic raises the rearfoot slightly inside the boot, heel slipping can become an issue in poorly designed footwear. ErgonX boots incorporate a firm 2mm thermoplastic heel counter along with targeted foam padding around the ankle collar. This creates a contoured heel recess that holds your heel securely against the back of the boot when laced or zipped, helping to prevent friction and slippage.
