Painful Corn Removal! 👣🔪 Ever wondered why a corn keeps coming back, even after it’s been removed?

Painful Corn Removal! 👣🔪 Ever wondered why a corn keeps coming back, even after it’s been removed? In today’s video, I’m removing a painful hard corn and surrounding callus from under the first metatarsal head (the ball of the foot beneath the big toe) using a Number 10 scalpel. A corn doesn’t just appear overnight. It’s your body’s way of protecting itself from too much pressure. Here’s what happens: ➡️ Pressure causes the skin to thicken. ➡️ The thicker skin creates even more pressure. ➡️ More pressure causes even more hard skin to build up. This creates what we call a positive feedback loop. The corn becomes harder, thicker and more painful over time, often feeling like you’re walking on a small stone every time you take a step. By carefully removing the hard skin and the central corn, we can usually provide immediate relief and make walking much more comfortable. The key is to remove enough to relieve the pressure without removing too much and making the area sore. Most patients with recurring corns need treatment every 6–8 weeks to keep them comfortable. The important thing to understand is that removing the corn doesn’t remove the cause. Unless we can reduce the pressure that’s creating it—whether that’s from the way the foot functions, the shape of the bone, footwear, or abnormal loading—the corn will usually return. That’s why long-term treatment often involves looking at: ✅ Better footwear ✅ Arch support or orthotics ✅ Pressure-relieving padding ✅ Addressing underlying foot mechanics If you’ve got a corn that keeps coming back or feels like you’re walking on a pebble every day, don’t just keep putting up with it. Find out what’s causing the pressure so you can get lasting relief. 🌐 Learn more about foot pain and foot care at https://ergonx.com.au #CornRemoval #FootPain #Podiatrist #CallusRemoval #HealthyFeet
