Safety Boot Features for Plantar Fasciitis Support
Foot health explained
Safety Boot Features for Plantar Fasciitis Support
When plantar fasciitis is being managed in the podiatry clinic, the safety boot is checked for features that support the foot and limit excessive inward rolling.
Where the Boot Bends and Twists
The boot should bend at the forefoot where the big toe flexes, not through the middle. It should also resist being twisted or wrung out, providing a stable structure beneath the arch.
Holding the Heel and Arch
A high, firm heel counter supports the rear of the foot. Laces allow the upper to be tightened around the arch, while a zip provides access without replacing that adjustment.
Space for an Orthotic Insole
The boot needs either a long, high arch-support insole or enough internal room for a podiatrist-made orthotic. ErgonX boots include an orthotic insole intended to support and cushion the arch while limiting overpronation.
